In the first of our new weekly video series for at-home exercises, Dr. Cody demonstrates a little thoracic spine mobility exercise. This quick and easy routine can be done in the first few minutes after rolling out of bed in the morning and before laying down at night to improve posture and reduce neck and back pain.
- Get down in a child's pose position
- Lock out the lumbar spine and hips
- Lengthen the lat my putting one hand out in front of you and one on the back of your neck
- Lift elbow out and around, following it with your head and then tracing it towards the opposite hip
- Do this 20 times.
